Situated at the very heart of the historic town of Tavistock is the ancient Pannier Market. The MArket was granted its Royal Charter in 1105 and has survived without a break for over 900 years. Today, this wonderful indoor market attracts customers from far and wide, all of whom relishing in the quality and variety of products on offer. The Market is open daily Tuesday to Saturday between the hours of 9am to 4:30pm

The Elephant's Nest Inn is a quintessentially English - and Devonshire - country pub set in a peaceful location within the Dartmoor National Park, and just minutes from Wilson Cottage. It is a place to meet, whether for a drink or to eat, in a relaxed and informal atmosphere. There are open log fires, thick stone walls and slate floors inside, and outside there is a large and recently extended garden which provides marvellous views of the moor.

Wheal Betsy is an old Engine House just beside the A386 between Okehampton and Tavistock just outside Mary Tavy. In the 17, 18 and 1900 this area was very important as a mining centre. The mines yielded tin, lead, zinc and silver. Wheal Bestsy is also well known for its leaning tower. The site is in an exposed position so received strong gusts of wind and rain, over the years the National Trust have had tore point the tower and stabilise the walls to ensure it doesn’t fall down.
